Among silence on Oulanyah day after arriving in US raises fears
The Deputy Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Anita Among has remained mute on the health condition of her senior, Jacob Oulanyah, a day after arriving in Seattle, USA, this newspaper has learnt.
Her sudden departure to the US saw her call off parliament sine die, amid fears that her boss was not in a stable health condition since his admission to a Seattle based Cancer institute.
The parliament spokesperson Chris Obore earlier cautioned the public to refrain from spreading unverified reports about the health of the speaker, adding that it is only the Deputy Speaker, Among, with that mandate.
However, a day after her arrival, Among has not communicated her findings, something that has raised concerns and speculations with many believing Oulanyah may be close to his end.
Some reports suggest that Oulanyah citing his worryingly deteriorating health had asked to tender in his resignation from the office of speaker as he does not see himself making it out of the chemotherapy alive.
Meanwhile, the Uganda Airlines 252 chartered Airbus remains at a Seattle airport awaiting to return back to Uganda upon the completion of the speaker’s treatment that shall either see him recuperate or succumb.
This newspaper understands that the bills have as of now exceeded the agreed $500,000. We are also reliably informed that parliament is ready to foot the bill that Uganda Airlines shall charge for making its Airbus wait for all this while.
