Struggling singer Angela Katatumba was seen with a gun in a video that surfaced online last week.
The singer has come out to say that no law in Uganda that stops anyone from owning a licensed gun.
She said she is in court fighting battles with mafias so she needs to protect herself.
“People are allowed to have licensed guns. I have to get security because of the people I deal with. Mafias want to forcefully take over my father’s properties,” she said in an interview with local television.
It should be noted that a few weeks ago, the Inspector-General of Police, Martin Ochola, banned the issuance of pistols to Private Security Organizations and individuals until further notice.
