Bilal Islamic School to Name Their New Building after SK Mbuga in Honor Of Headlining Their Fundraising Drive
Bilal Islamic, a secondary school in Bwaise that caught fire and was reopened after a fundraising drive that fetched in excess of the required funds to work on the first phase to enabled the students return to school. The money raised by Muslim well-wishers and old students of the school was 72,134,200 shillings
SK Mbuga who was on the board represent the OBs of Bilal played a bigger role in this drive and donated 300 mattresses and 300 blankets to enable the students back and proposed to the government officials to advisor on the reconstruction of the Dormitory than just renovating it that was affected by fire which the State Minister for Kampala Capital City and Metropolitan Affair Hon. Kabuye Kyofatogabye and Minister for Kampala and Metropolitan Affairs Hajjat Minsa kabanda agreed on and delegated a physical planner to see this into action.
The two ministers donated cements amounting to 250bags to ease the construction of the building and the school administration agreed on naming it after the city tycoon’s name “SK MBUGA BUILDING” . This comes at a point when Hajji SK Mbuga also supported the institution in the construction of the flat currently owned by the school; the business man constructed a floor on the build from the purchase of cement to the clearance of labour expenses.
SK Mbuga participated in the drive since he is an OB of Bilal and being among the pioneers of the secondary section of the school.
