Court has set 29/6/2022 as a ruling date on the jurisdiction of court to handle the bail appeal for Hon. Muhammad Ssegirinya and Hon. Allan Ssewanyana.
Allan Ssewanyana and Muhammad Ssegirinya earlier today appeared before Appeals Court justices; Cheborion Barishaki, Christopher Madrama and Eva Luswata for their bail hearing. All proceedings were followed via zoom.
Mityana Municipality MP Hon. Francis Zaake, said the legislators need to be given bail so that they can return to execute their legislative mandate.
“Justice is due no matter the delays. No political persecution lasts. We pray that the Court of Appeal grants our comrades Ssegirinya and Ssewanyana bail on June 29th so they can return to execute their legislative mandate.” Zaake said.
