The constitutional court will this morning rule on the bail application filed by the jailed National Unity Platform party lawmakers Allan Ssewanyana and Muhammad Ssegirinya.
The duo are seeking a court ruling that would see them obtain bail and have their case be heard as they report from their respective homes. In some of the grounds, their lawyers led by Counsel Erias Lukwago contend that the accused are duly elected Members of Parliament with legislative responsibilities to execute.
They also add that the state prosecution has failed to adduce substantial grounds to back their case yet the suspects have been on remand for over 9 months.
The panel of judges is to rule on the bail application today.
