The Chief Justice, Alfonso Owiny Dollo; Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Anita Among; Health Minister, Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng are on their way back to Uganda.
ChimpReports has exclusively learnt that the team, which left Uganda on Tuesday to check on the ailing Speaker of Parliament, Jacob Oulanyah in Seattle, United States, got on to the return flight on Friday night.
“They left Seattle and are expected in Entebbe on Saturday evening or Sunday morning,” said a knowledgeable source.
Among yesterday released a brief statement on social media saying they had checked on the Speaker on his hospital bed and that he was responding to treatment.
He is receiving and responding to treatment under the close attention of his Doctors,” added Among.
The Deputy Speaker appealed for prayers for Oulanyah, and in chorus with Mao, urged the public to “respect” the privacy of the ailing Speaker.
“Let us keep him in prayers for a speedy and complete recovery. I urge the public to respect his privacy and that of the family,” she said.
The Speaker has been hospitalized for over a month now since February 3, 2022 when he left Uganda on a chartered Uganda Airlines Flight. This preceded a week long hospitalization in Uganda.
Last week, this website reported that Oulanyah was expected to stay in the U.S until April 2022 as per the advice of the doctors at the specialized facility in Seattle.
He last chaired Parliament on November 24, 2021 and will unprecedentedly be away from the seat for over 150 days by April 2022.
