President Kagame to Visit Uganda as Muhoozi Birthday Preps Gain Momentum

Rwandan President Paul Kagame will soon travel to Uganda to attend Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s birthday celebration.

A series of events will be held starting April 23 for fans to celebrate the UPDF Forces commander’s birthday.

President Museveni will on April 24 host a dinner for Muhoozi who will be clocking 48 years.
“I am very happy to announce that my uncle, the very great Commander, President and Leader of Rwanda will be attending my birthday celebration,” said Muhoozi on April 16.

“Ruhanga asiimwe (Thanks be to God). Inkotanyi cyane indeed!!”

This will be Kagame’s first trip to Uganda in two years.

Kagame last visited Uganda in 2020 during a meeting of regional leaders at the common border.

The meeting was part of the resolutions of the quadripartite summit held in Luanda, Angola to resolve Uganda’s differences with Rwanda.

Museveni recently met with Kagame in Nairobi during the EAC leaders’ summit.

Kagame’s trip to Uganda will come at the back of warm bilateral relations between the two countries.

The relations which had collapsed were revived after Muhoozi met Kagame in Rwanda.

Kagame was among the few NRA commandos who attacked Kabamba in 1981, marking the beginning of the war against Milton Obore’s regime.

He would later fight side by side with Museveni in the NRA war till 1986 when the guerrillas captured power in Kampala.

Kagame later led the RPF fighters who stopped the genocide against the Tutsi before seizing power in 1994.

Muhoozi told ChimpReports that his birthday will feature Rwanda’s Intore dance and a performance by a Rwandan musician.

ChimpReports understands Muhoozi’s fans in Uganda and diaspora will hold celebrations in the form of marathons, football matches, cycling, drinkups, debates, cultural dance and drama, bull roasting, gymnastics and mountain climbing among others.

Celebrants have been encouraged to post videos and pictures of their fun on Twitter via hashtag #MKAt48 which has been trending for the last few weeks.

These videos will be relayed on Live TV covering the physical event at State House and Lugogo Cricket Oval.

Muhoozi said there will be a ‘Kasiki’ on 23rd April at Lugogo organised by ‘Friends of MK’ under Michael Nuwagira (Toyota).
