UPDF engineering brigade starts refurbishing fallen Speaker Oulanyah’s mansion

The Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) Engineering Brigade has started refurbishing the house of former Speaker of Parliament Jacob Oulanyah at his ancestral home in Ayom Lony village, Lalogi sub-county, Omoro district, according to Land Force Commander Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba.

The developments come a few days after President Yoweri Museveni reportedly committed to finish the mansion and also pay school fees for the children and dependents of fallen Speaker Oulanyah.

Museveni allegedly made the commitment while meeting the Greater North Parliamentary Forum representatives at State House Nakasero last week.

The brigade is expected to complete one of the houses by Thursday, where the body will be taken before burial.
Oulanyah’s body is expected to be brought back to Uganda on Friday. The government is set to release the burial program tomorrow.
