Uganda’s once vibrating band, Golden Band has recruited new young and talented musicians to help revamp it.
The band is remembered for producing some of Ugandan’s top musicians including Ronald Mayinja, Catherine Kusasira, Mesach Semakula, Karitas Kario, Carol Nantongo, Doreen Mutiibwa, Grace Sekamatge, Michael Kinene among others.
As time moved on, the band members started fighting each other for different reasons. It’s said that some of these reasons include competition, witchcraft, sex, and greed. Because of this, the band collapsed and most of the artists went solo.
The band veterans including Ronald Mayinja and Catherine Kusasira have decided to bring it back on the music scene by recruiting new artists. Auditions were held and the best young artists were picked and are ready to start their musical journey with the band.
It band will have its first ever show after rebranding on Easter.
“We have recruited a talented group of musicians and dancers after auditions that will be meeting up with us to thrill our fans once again. Expect the best of the best, some can even replace us given the fact that we might be attending to tasks in the East African Legislative Assembly,” Catherine Said in an interview with a local YouTuber.
